- A warehouse specialist is responsible for overseeing, coordinating and monitoring daily activity in a warehouse. They work with warehouse employees to monitor and record inventory of what goes in and out of a company's facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and manage warehouse staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure the safety of warehouse staff and promote a culture of safety throughout the warehouse.
- Oversee the receiving, storing, and shipping of products, including inventory management and accuracy.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure that product is available for order fulfillment.
- Work with other departments, such as purchasing and sales, to ensure efficient inventory management and timely order fulfillment.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory accuracy, material handling damage and warehouse operations.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, quality system and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in the development and implementation of warehouse policies and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Direct support to cycle count program.
- Monitor excesses and obsolete weekly during each change of order from engineering team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in warehouse management or a related field.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and shipping and receiving procedures.
