We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Strategic Sourcing Specialist III to support the IT, Network, and Cloudspace of our business. This critical role will directly support the successful execution of our innovative data center and power generation projects, which capture wasted natural gas from oil fields, wind and solar energy and convert it into electricity to power advanced data centers.

As a Strategic Sourcing Specialist III , you will play a vital role in sourcing and securing the necessary materials, equipment, and services for our field operations. Your expertise in procurement and contract management will be instrumental in ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of critical project components, ultimately contributing to the company's success in mitigating environmental impact and driving the energy transition.

This role will be 100% on-site at our Cherry Creek Denver headquarters.

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • SLA Management: Defining and negotiating Service Level Agreements (SLAs), focusing on "uptime" percentages, latency, and mean time to repair (MTTR).

  • Licensing Models: Managing the transition from perpetual licenses to subscription-based cloud models (Azure, AWS, GCP).

  • Data Privacy: Ensuring all contracts comply with GDPR, CCPA, or SOC2 requirements, especially concerning how data is stored in the cloud.Teamwork and Independence: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. This highlights the need for both self-sufficiency and collaborative work styles.

  • Cost Optimization: Monitoring cloud consumption to ensure the organization isn't overpaying for "zombie" instances or unused licenses.

  • Renewals: Managing the "coterminosity" of contracts (aligning end dates) to increase bargaining power during renewals.

  • Security Clauses: Working with the CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) to ensure vendors meet specific cybersecurity standards.

  • Asset Tracking: Maintaining an accurate inventory of hardware (routers, switches, servers) and software assets.Dispute Resolution: Handling credit claims when a vendor fails to meet their promised uptime.Organizational and Time-Management

  • Supplier Engagement & Identification: Demonstrated skill in obtaining and analyzing product and price data for contract negotiations and conducting comparative analysis of vendor terms and/or price quotations with historical data to develop recommendations on vendor selection, terms, or prices. Manage all types of source selections including formal, informal, and vendor screening processes.

  • Proposal Evaluation: Conduct multiple bid events including RFI’s, RFQ’s, RFP’s at once. Prepare bid summaries to evaluate commercial proposals and provide slide deck award recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.

  • Contract Negotiation & Management: Negotiate and execute a variety of agreements, including Service Orders, Master Service Agreements, Master Purchase Agreements, Consulting Agreements, EPC contracts, and more. Experience with contract award, contract modifications, and/or subcontracts, developing, preparing, and presenting terms and conditions in bids or proposals related to the awards of contracts, and general administrative experience.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders (e.g., Project Managers, Engineers, Legal) and external suppliers to ensure smooth project execution. Should be able to effectively communicate with a high volume and variety of people daily.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, law, or IT.

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in direct procurement roles with specific experience in SaaS, IaaS, and the complex licensing models associated with modern data centers.

  • Technical Skills: Understanding of Cloud hierarchy (Public vs Private), Virtualization, and Network security protocols.

  • Legal & Compliance: Knowledge of Intellectual Property rights and liability limitations

  • Communication: Ability to "translate" technical jargon from engineers into business terms for executives.

  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This indicates the need for someone who can handle pressure and changing circumstances.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with industry-standard procurement software (e.g., Coupa).

  • Industry certifications such as CPM, CPSM, CPSD, MCIPS, APICS, CPIM, CSCP, or CTSC.

  • Certifications including CCCM or foundational cloud certs like AWS Cloud Practitioner.

Compensation Range:

Compensation will be paid in the range of $103,000-$125,000. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
