About This Role:
This is a pivotal, dual-function role for a highly motivated and technical Accounting Manager who thrives in a dynamic manufacturing environment. You will sit at the intersection of accounting and operations — owning complex revenue streams while ensuring that production activity is accurately tracked, costed, and reflected in our financial records.
You'll work cross-functionally with Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to build robust, auditable processes from the ground up. This role is ideal for a self-starter who can navigate both a factory floor and a general ledger with equal proficiency. This role is based in Denver, CO, and is in-office 5 days/week.
What You’ll Be Working On:
End-to-End Revenue Ownership: Independently review, analyze, and interpret customer agreements to provide comprehensive US GAAP conclusions and document well-reasoned accounting positions.
Work Order & WIP Management: Oversee the full production order lifecycle from creation to completion, ensuring work orders and WIP balances accurately reflect daily manufacturing activity.
Cost Analysis & Efficiency: Analyze production process variances and quantity discrepancies; develop action plans to correct production data and support manufacturing cost efficiency.
Technical Accounting Mastery: Serve as the subject matter expert on ASC 606 and other relevant GAAP guidance as applied to manufacturing revenue streams.
Month-End Close Leadership: Lead key aspects of the month-end close including journal entries, reconciliations, flux analyses, and period-end production cost reviews.
Operationalization: Translate complex accounting assessments and production data into clear, actionable processes for billing, collections, and financial reporting teams.
Audit Management: Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors, preparing thorough, audit-ready documentation and schedules.
Continuous Improvement: Champion initiatives to enhance internal controls, improve data integrity, and drive automation across revenue accounting and production reporting functions.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Licensure:CPA required.
Experience: 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally with exposure to a manufacturing or production environment. Public accounting experience is a plus.
Technical Expertise: Deep expertise in US GAAP (particularly ASC 606) and a solid understanding of WIP accounting and production cost analysis.
System Proficiency: Experience managing ERP/MRP systems; Acumatica or Sage Intacct experience is strongly preferred.
Communication: Ability to articulate complex accounting concepts clearly to diverse audiences, from the shop floor to senior leadership.
Safety and Compliance: This position is designated a safety-sensitive position and/or is located in a safety-sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required.
Bonus Points:
Experience in a "vertically integrated" manufacturing environment.
Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools to report on WIP and material availability.
Proven track record of implementing automated revenue recognition modules within an ERP.
